The total import cargos of 66,571 tonnes comprised of 41,851 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,314 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,658 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 4,048 tonnes of fertilizer and 3,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 47,463 tonnes comprised of 7,520 tonnes of containerised cargo; 32,790 tonnes of fertilizer and 7,153 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 4,975 containers comprising of 3,284 containers import and 1,691 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 896 of 20's and 1,158 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 36 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 224 of 20's and 109 of 40's loaded containers while 405 of 20's and 422 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ship namely Irenes Reliance, Hyundai Oakland, Nordic Basel, Friedrich Schulte, Ping An Song and BBC Olympus carrying containers, oil tanker, DAP and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. Seaspan Yangtze, CMA CGM Medea and Chembulk Yokohama carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
The total import cargo of 87,856 tonnes includes 36,443 tonnes of coal; 5,658 tonnes of palm oil; 14,000 tonnes of canola; 2,500 tonnes of chemical; 16,712 tonnes of general cargo; 4,050 tonnes of mogas and 8,493 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,332 tonnes includes 42,332 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,675 containers comprising of 447 containers import and 2,228 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were four ships namely Los Angles Trader, APL New York, Spring Melody and Tiger Harmony carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, canola, chemical, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as four vessels viz. IVS Wentworth, CP Shen Zhen, Epic Sicily and Chemroad Dita carrying coal, LPG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five ships viz. Maersk Brooklyn, Nagoya Express, IVS Wentworth, Milaha Raslaffan and Epic Sicily carrying containers, coal, LNG and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were three ships namely Maersk Brooklyn, Nagoya Express and Milaha Raslaffan carrying containers and LNG respectively due to arrive on Thursday.
